What a weekend! The book club I belong to, "The Biloxi Book Babes" met Carolyn Haines, the author of "Them Bones," our October book selection! She is a native of Mississippi, currently living and teaching in Alabama. She was so charming and we really enjoyed having lunch with her.
Later, we were walking around The Peter Anderson Festival, a huge annual festival in Ocean Springs, and I came upon another author, Daisy Karem-Read. She wrote "From Manhattan to Mississippi," a great book I read prior to moving here that really did help me acclimate.
