Life Sans Cable

We bit the bullet at the beginning of the month and decided to cancel cable. It's ridiculously expensive here and we don't have a lot of options. We figured we get a few local stations and that would suffice. What we didn't realize is that even with the antenna, we'd really only get one local station because the other two stations are out of New Orleans and Mobile, so we can't pull them in. :( My one consolation is that the local station we do get is an ABC affiliate so I can see GMA in the mornings when I have time and a few other shows, such as Castle!

So what do we do instead of staying glued to our television? Netflix! I'm finally getting caught up on all those movies I should have, and wanted, to see in the last few years. We're enjoying the two movies we get, plus the "instant play" option from the Internet.

I'd like to see us both doing more reading and such, but I think we were so enamoured with getting the movies that we focused on that for awhile. Reading and games will come, I believe, in time.

That's my random update for the day!

We have never had cable or dish, etc. We have been doing Netflix for at least 2 years now, and we love it - especially for the kids. I'm glad you're enjoying it.
