Baton Rouge Wedding

Last weekend Jason and I drove to Baton Rouge for his best friend's sister's wedding...got that? :) We left at 5 am Saturday morning and made it there for lunch. It was odd to attend a wedding where, essentially, I know no one but my date and have just met his parents. It was fun, but we were exhausted by 7:40 that night and left early...it seriously felt like 11 pm. We stayed with his Grandfather and his wife, Barbara. They are dear people and made me feel right at home. On Sunday Jason gave me a tour of his life via a 7 mile run...I saw his kinder-room, elementary school, middle school, hometown church, various houses his family members have lived in, and then he drove me downtown that evening for a quick tour of Baton Rouge.

I took Monday off so we could take our time driving back. We stopped in Houston and visited with Erin, Brian, and Micaiah for a couple of hours. I've wanted to see Micaiah for so long...before she becomes a toddler! We couldn't stay for long, but it was enough time for me to read a story to her--she sat on my lap for a little bit, but it didn't last quite as long as I'd like it to, but I'll live. Maybe over Thanksgiving I can see her long enough for her to warm up to me. :)
