Ultra-personal self-disclosure here...

I'm pretty sure the only people that read this blog on a regular basis are the people and I call and share trials, tribulations, and celebrations with anyways, so I'm gonna put this out there...

I am so excited because I was able to make an extra payment towards a closed credit card account today! Why am I celebrating. Two reasons...

1. I'm actually making money to contribute to the family income!

2. I'm following Dave Ramsey's 2nd step to financial freedom.

To be financially free someday will be AMAZING! I have never been good with money. NEVER! Mom will tell you that it used to just burn in my pocket till I could spend it. As an adult, I did a very poor job of managing it. It became worse during the year I suffered from depression and didn't realize it. I was so overwhelmed with life that I just didn't even try to pay attention to what I was doing. Plus I was trying to keep up with "the Jones'" by going out to eat, shopping, and traveling when really, they made much more than me because they were not Lutheran school teachers. Let's be honest, it's not a profession that keeps you rolling in dough. But it doesn't have to put you under either, if you manage yourself. I didn't, and I'm still paying for it. But, as long as I can keep working and putting that money towards the debt first(after tithing) and not a latte, we could move from MS financially free of debt! This is one of my top five prayers!
