What does one do on their first Friday night without their fiance that isn't driven by mega-cleaning due to a parental visit? Well, first, one goes to happy hour with some colleagues...then one drives to Walmart, while crying on the phone to their fiance because the idea of going home to an empty house is miserable.
I was pretty tired Friday night. I thought about calling friends to go to a movie or something, but I just wasn't up for that either. I wanted to be home doing nothing. But doing nothing alone is NOT as much fun as doing nothing with Jason.
I made it through and then had a super-busy Saturday and fun Saturday evening helping Jamie surprise Greg with a 30th B-day get-together. Then I went home, kinda early, and organized and purged the office a bit. With Jason on speaker phone while he was going through old photos at his parents house. He was on a mission for me to find photos of himself growing up. Apparently it was a larger task than I thought. Oh well, the outcome will be outstanding. I promise!
So, while it felt rather pathetic Friday night, the weekend wasn't that bad. I picked up my future stepsons for church Sunday morning. We stayed for the luncheon and I managed to keep their sugar intake down to just below a diabetic coma. Oh, and stone walls inside buildings can serve as climbing walls if the right six-year-old finds them. Never a dull moment...

Valentine's Day in Biloxi

I was fortunate enough to fly to Biloxi last weekend to spend a three-day holiday with Jason. It happened to fall on Valentine's day, which was nice for us, but not the main point of the visit. (On a side note, this was a possible wedding weekend for us, but I didn't want to get married on Valentine's Day. I was told by one student that I couldn't get married on the 15th because then it would look like I tried for the 14th and missed.)
Anywho, it was a fantastic weekend! We shopped, ate, watched the Food Network and HGTV and just enjoyed spending time together. We were maybe going to go to Baton Rouge, but after spending so much time in the car while there in January and over New Year's, we just wanted to stay put for the weekend.
