Who could NOT fall in love with this cutie? :-)

Finally Friday

This was the wackiest week of emotions. I felt so fatigued and listless while at work for the first three days of the week. I was still exercising...on two different days twice, but I didn't seem to get many endorphins. By Wednesday night I was worried. Listless, out of focus, and feeling nothing are all symptoms I experienced when I suffered from depression for awhile. I went to counseling and took an anti-depressant for about a year. Thankfully the combo did the trick and I've been off the ADs for 15 months.

So, all that is to say I was scared I was slipping back into the depression and would have to go back on the ADs. This didn't thrill me with the wedding in less than a month.

After a good conversation with Jason where I just layed it all out there, we ended with prayer and I fell asleep more peacefully than I have in quite awhile. What a BLESSING! Thursday was good. I was much more focused on work and had a great night at Bible study. I even had enough energy to come home and pick-up a ton. The house wasn't trashed, but there were still shower gifts sitting out, etc. They are now nicely packed in a box ready to move to Biloxi. It's a little sad to put them away, but it will make July tons of fun to rediscover them!

Today was awesome and I'm happily looking forward to my friend Marissa coming over so she, Bethany and I can eat "homemade" pizza, drink a little wine and enjoy some homemade guacamole. :)

So an answer to the fatigue and listlessness? Stress. I hate to admit I suffer from it, but with planning the wedding, doing essentially two jobs, missing Jason, etc, I think my body was telling me I need to go easy on myself. Lots of prayers helped come to this conclusion. :)

Have a fabulous weekend!

While some of these aren't the best views of me, they still show that I had a good time last week at an impromptu SPURS game. Marissa randomly got four free tickets and invited Bethany, myself, and Laura, a friend of hers from work who we've gotten to know over the last few years as well. I have to say I did a great job of avoiding the usual game fare, but I did have some cotton candy and it was marvelous! Did you know cotton candy is one of the best things you can have at events such as this?

One Month

The wedding is officially one month away. I'm not freaking out, but I am slightly more intense in checking off my list. This weekend provided an incredible amount of time and deals in helping accomplish the list. Erin came to visit and attend a shower for me. So, what did we accomplish?
-finalized band for ring so Jason could make the purchase
-bought almost all table decorations, plus some ceremony decorations for 50% off at Hobby Lobby
-bought jewelry for wedding
-bought champagne flutes for toast at Anthropologie
-picked out shoe options for dress
-made appointment with flower dept. Met with them on Monday and the order is set
-sent out last of invites to wayward address-senders

What must be done?
-rent some linens
-finalize program design
-finalize ceremony
-finish photo project
-look forward to Jason's visit in 8 days

On a side note, on Sunday I wrote all of my thank you's from Saturday's shower. Considering the intensity I'm feeling now, I'm so thankful I took the time I was blessed with on Sunday.

Look for pics from a Spurs game and the shower later this week.

Spring Break Wrap-Up

A little mini-golfing with the boys. It was a ton of fun!

The Next Step had an outing to La Fogata's! My favorite place!

I was showered with love at a Pampered Chef bridal shower. It was also a ton of fun!

Engagement

I just had to post a few here. I'm so excited to get my CD and print some of them! The black and white of all four of us is my favorite family shot. Jamie got some really nice ones of the boys that I'll have to post later.

This is my new family. So crazy, yet seems so right. I pick the boys up almost every weekend to go to church and then lunch. I didn't one weekend and I missed having them there with me. They are such sweethearts.

Right now they're excited about having two mommies and two daddies. They've had two daddies for a while now, so they're excited to add me. I just hope they're excited to have two of each once they hit adolescence. The sermon last weekend was about how it's tough to take over an existing organization or move into someone else's position. He talked about the reality of becoming a step-parent. At first it's all fun and games and then eventually you're a figure of authority, which takes some of the fun out of it. While I enjoy having fun with the boys, I've tried not to be just "fun Miss Kari." I think I've succeeded, but we have a LOT of years left to find out. :)

Engagement Photos!

If you'd like a sneak peak at our engagement and family photos, you can go to here or here. Jamie did an AWESOME job capturing the characters in our family!

It was a great weekend, even with my comprehensive exam mixed in there. The boys and I were sad to see Jason leave, but we only have to wait 3 weeks before our next visit! Yea!

Background and Banner

I decided the pinky background I had was too busy, romantic...I don't know...just too much for me. This is much more my style. The banner will stay up for a bit, even though it doesn't quite work as well. I'll adjust it after I take my exam on Saturday! Yikes!!!

But happier news is that Jason is here! And our invitations arrived!!! Yea!! I took some pics of them, but again, after the test...
