There is just too much going on to really blog properly. Too many topics. Too many pictures I have taken, or want to take. Here's the list...
1. Bachelorette Party from two weeks ago.
2. Paper Purge of 2009 (should be a good one).
3. Pity Party Friday night, followed by fantastic sermon about Exodus 14:15--"Quit Crying and Keep Moving."
4. Packing and moving Jason this week.
5. NYG '10 Planning meeting at the end of this week in New Orleans.
6. All the ministry opportunities popping up at school that I wish would not because I hate seeing my students hurting.
7. Summer practicum not being offered this summer and how I have no time this weekend to deal with that situation.
That's the exhausted list...I'm sure there are more wedding blogs to share, but right now the planning has stagnated due to the move.
Please pray for safe travel for Jason and I as we move him this week. Blessings to all!

...building...
In true fashion, my yearly motto proves true with the year barely underway. My plan, while less than ideal, was to marry at the end of April and then do my practicum over the summer, which would mean waiting to move till August. Less than ideal for Jason and I, but closing a chapter in my life--graduate school. Well, the district in which the summer practicum is held is fighting UTSA on one issue, which leave the possiblity of it being offered up in the air.
Surprisingly, I'm not upset. It seems par for the course and quite frankly, it would mean being able to move in June rather than August. That's appealing. Finishing my masters is appealing, but being with Jason is moreso.
So the prayer is for the Lord's will to be done because I have no idea what I want. Well I suppose I do, but I've worked too hard to not finish.
Building on the unexpected....

Planning Underway

The date is set, the dress has arrived in Iowa and will begin the journey to San Antonio soon...it's all coming together...
Considering the number of weddings I've attended, helped with, and been apart of, planning one's own is quite different. Planning one with someone is altogether different.
Packing Jason while trying to nail details down is a tad frustrating. Mark 10:27 has brought me a great deal of comfort this week and may be my theme verse for the next eight months.
My new motto, "Build on the Unexpected."

Christmas in Iowa~The Sassy Side
I'm terribly overdue in posting, so first, Happy New Year to all! My Christmas break was quite typical in that I drove thousands of miles with my parents, saw lots and lots of family, cruised into St. Louis for two days and crammed in as many friends as possible, and then flew to Baton Rouge and saw lots of Jason's family and then drove home two days before second semester began. Okay, flying to Baton Rouge is not typical, but I blieve it will be the "new typical" in my life. Jason also flew to Iowa the day after Christmas and met all of my family plus some.
I've been working on scrapbooking my pages digitally, so here is Christmas Eve on the Sass side of the family. We didn't do presents this year, which was fine, but it did leave the evening somewhat flat, just because there is not the same anticipation. However, I took advantage of the time to have our family create a "Sass Family Christmas" album. It's 8x8 in size and each woman in the family worked on pages. We finished 54 pages in a night, which is amazing! The book goes all the way back to the early 50s and 60s, although those pictures are few. Beginning in 1976 there are pictures from each year. Some years we were diligent about taking a "grandkids" picture and some years we weren't. There are some fun collages of presents, eating, and game-playing for us all to enjoy in the years to come. I'm putting the finishing touches on the album and then I will scan each page to create a matching digital album that everyone who wants one can enjoy. The original one will reside with Grandma. Here are a few shots of my family working on the album and then enjoying each other. We diligently took a "grandkids" shot, but we're sans cousin Andy. Traditions are changing...
