Future posts

I won't post again till after Christmas...but I'll give you a preview. Some of it will surround how I am not emotionally and physically prepared for single-digit degree weather...and that's where I'm headed! Mom told me to try to pack lightly because they bought Grandpa a gift that will take up a lot room. It is IMPOSSIBLE to pack lightly when you have to wear at least three layers to stay at room temperature! Not possible!

Now, I'm not a cold-weather scrooge...I am looking forward to seeing some snow. I'm just wondering when I'm going to run when my preferred morning time will be waaaay too cold for this Texas girl. :)

Peace my friends!

Thanksgiving

I'm a little tardy in updating, but the Advent season has been busy and joyous! If you're friends with Erin and Brian, you have already seen a picture or two from my Thanksgiving since I was able to spend it with them and my parents. But I'll recap for everyone's sake.

I had school for two and half days the week of Thanksgiving, which was somewhat unheard of for this area, and believe me, we heard about it from the students, but really, it wasn't too bad. I got to Houson on Wednesday, where it stormed for quite awhile, keeping us from church. But that didn't stop us from singing some Thanksgiving hymns...from the red hymnal no less. Mom kept picking them out and telling dad and I that we knew them...but really, we didn't...but we tried to sing for her sake. The piano hasn't been tuned since before they moved to Houston...we exemplified a "joyful noise." :)

Thursday morning dad and I met Brian and Erin for the Turkey Trot. It was COLD and WINDY! Brian and I trotted for 6.4 miles and dad trotted for 3.2. He then met Erin to wait for Brian and I to trot by so she could take a picture. I love that being pregnant did not keep her from braving the cold!

From there it was the usual preparations and time spent with family and friends. Brian and Erin joined us and we had a fabulous time talking, eating, and talking some more. :)

I spent the rest of the weekend working on one of my albums. It was the MOST relaxing break I've had in a very long time. We didn't force ourselves to go out and shop on "black Friday," or anything insave like that. I have a deep aversion to entering malls or stores that day after working in a mall for six years and working that day for most of it.

I will be posting more as finals finish up at school. Till then...Enjoy the Journey!
