Summer Storms

We've got some summer storms that are just sitting over the city right now. Whenever it rains the drainage ditch behind our house turns into a raging river. The San Antonio motto is "Turn around, don't drown!"

Summer Weddings

Hello! June is almost over and I have not updated you on my life in a VERY long time. May was full of the usual end-of-the-year stuff. It was calmer than last year in that I didn't have to buy a new car and no one stole all of my money out of my bank account--always a bonus. :-)

May did offer one incredibly fun event--Nina Klepacki's wedding--she is now married to a wonderful guy named Chris Baumbach. All of the "girls" from college were able to attend, some of them with their husbands, and even a baby girl has entered the mix. I got very little sleep that weekend, thanks to some interesting conversations with members of the wedding party, but it was all well worth it.

June has brought another graduate class--Psychology of Human Motivation. Oddly enough, I'm not all that motivated to do the work sometimes. I'm ready for a break, but the class is small and the professor is good, so I'll survive.

June also brought a quick trip to San Diego, CA for the wedding of one of my junior high and high school friend's wedding--Michelle Bordeaux. All of the high school "girls" were there for that as well. It was also an incredible weekend full of fun.

As I look back at both of these event, I realize how blessed we all were that we were ALL able to attend the weddings. It would have seemed so wrong if one of us had not been there.

July brings an Iowa trip, a Mississippi trip, and finally the Youth Gathering in Orlando, where again I am united with some dear friends.

I pray your summers are off to a fantastic start.
